Biography of
Arminda Lopes (Inglês)
Arminda Maria Constantino Henriques Lopes, daughter of Jaime Pestana and Arminda Constantino, was born in the 1950s, therefore currently in her 70s. She is married to António Pereira Lopes, and the couple has two children, Nuno and Maria Alice, and two grandchildren, Francisco and Carolina.
That's how, during
a difficult time for the family, she didn't hesitate and dedicated herself to a
grueling but meaningful task: she took a job as a medical care assistant in a
geriatric clinic.
In the realm of spirituality, due to her sensitivity perceived since childhood, she had the opportunity to learn about it at the Lisbon Branch. Fascinated by improvements in her health, she embraced the spiritualist cause and, alongside Lauriana, Orlanda de Souza, Antão Lopes da Luz, and Aída da Luz, participated as a co-founder of the Seixal Branch of the Christian Rationalist Spiritualist Philosophy, a cause she supported for two decades.
Arminda Lopes, whose maternal grandparents were Angolan, Germano and Florinda, and her paternal grandparents were Portuguese, João Ernesto and Domingas, was born in Angola. Her memory still holds all the recollections of her pure childhood, spent on a small island called Bahia dos Tigres, which was populated by residents, but practically all of them fishermen. Besides the lighthouse keeper , the island also housed a maritime delegate, a nurse, a post chief, a postmaster, a teacher, and a priest.
In her later years, devoted to her family, she became the fairy of her home, possessing unparalleled purity of thought coupled with a privileged memory and keen sensitivity. She experimented with writings reflecting on her own experiences and perceptions of goodness. She had the wisdom to befriend good friends who led her to study and practice Christian rationalist philosophical spirituality, which, guided by highly spiritual spirits, made her a poet whose familiar themes guide and illuminate the path for any being of goodwill.
His father, at that time, due to the scarcity of public jobs, practiced one of the most desired and appreciated professions, that of " lighthouse keeper ," and as such, was brought by the government to practice it on a small fishing island called Baia dos Tigres, Angola.
And on that small island, the family consisted of the parents Jaime Pestana and Arminda Constantino, plus eight siblings: Maria Constança, Maria Arlete, João Constantino, Elsa Maria, Olga Maria, Germano Constantino, and the youngest sister, Anabela Constantino. Thus, Mrs. Arminda Lopes is one of the youngest. In such a large family, the older sisters took care of the younger ones. Due to their father's work as a lighthouse keeper , which kept them far from the small fishing community, and the family's financial difficulties , their mother, Mrs. Arminda Constantino, as a homemaker, worked as a seamstress at home to help support the family. Therefore, it was a family cultivated through mutual support, where love and respect shone in the intimacy of the family.
At age 7, she began her literacy education with teacher Maria Canedo, whom she still remembers with great emotion, recalling the way she handled and experienced those first letters. But the memory of that sublime teacher surpassed the charms and beauty of her first school days, when on Saturdays she rewarded her students with outings to the magical beaches of that paradise. On those sands they found seashells, starfish, but their favorites were the crabs, as the children were amused to see them scurrying sideways.
Mrs. Arminda lived a childhood rich in family values. She learned a lot from her older sister, such as putting her younger siblings to bed and telling stories until they fell asleep. Playtime took place in the backyard, and toys and games were chosen according to the affection and imagination of the moment. All of this, combined with the good upbringing given by her parents, enriched the foundation of her home and her entire family, who occasionally gather—grandparents, uncles, aunts, nephews, and grandchildren—with the same Christian unity and joy of that enchanted paradise of our memories of Baía dos Tigres.
Upon reaching adulthood, she worked as a medical assistant at the pediatric hospital in the capital of Angola, later being promoted to laboratory technician at the same hospital. Shortly after, for specialized and prolonged treatment of her son Nuno, she moved permanently to the city of Lisbon, Portugal.
Upon encountering spirituality, Mrs. Arminda Lopes became fascinated by this awakening of new ideas, and her visits to the Seixal branch of the Christian Rationalist Spiritualist Philosophy became more frequent and meaningful, where she learned to discipline herself in the use of her mediumship, directed towards good and the improvement of her mental and physical health.
In this blossoming of her mediumship, she began to perceive new understandings of her doubts and anxieties. In this way, besides showing everyone that Mrs. Arminda Lopes had begun to live both lives, the physical and the spiritual, in a natural and growing way, she developed a desire to share this new understanding with family and close friends. This love for writing became so evident that it gives everyone a strong perception of her eternal childhood and family fraternity...
Today, Mrs. Arminda has two channels on the digital network dedicated to spiritual and universal love called "THE HAPPINESS OF LOVING" with a total of 296 articles. And, on the channel "DROPS OF DEW", among poems, verses and short ballads by various authors, totaling 180 publications.
